What I think of Women
Well, it was many weeks ago that a certain religious personage over here in Sydney decided to through the book at women, and not long after it was the man at www.compelledchristian.com who decided to throw something as well. I want to put my two cents in, because I think someone should say this. What I am about to say comes from my heart. Not all of it is pretty, but it is all honest.
I think women are great. I know that isn't controversial or anything, but I wanted to say it as early as I could. I think I have been very lucky in life, for I have met so many amazing women. Essentially speaking, men are pretty great creatures as well. We tend to tackle odds, fight our foes, handle life's little stuff ups and this all can leave us pretty battered. Thing is though, that the smile of our beloved woman accompanied by a good word can lift our spirits to the point that we are more than ready to do it again.
But I digress, though hopefully it was worth it.
Like I said, I've met plenty of amazing women and alot of my respect for women comes from the first woman I ever met. My mum. Dynamite woman. Married with six kids, career mum and none of us are crack heads or anything like that. So you could say she did well. Biggest thing she ever taught me was alot to do with strength. You don't have strength, you get strength by being strong when you can't. My mum has always seemed to have more energy than five people could ever use up. So when the first woman you know, who is usually a large influence in how you see women, is like this it is a very easy thing to respect women immensely. Funnily enough, this is extremely christian. Honour thy Mother and Father.
But my mother isn't all the women I have known. For which I am truly thankful. I have known women that have been the person that have kept me in Christianity. Alana Norris, Samitha Anchan and Francia Vega have all been pillars of strength in my life that have helped me keep my focus on God by doing their christian duty and by being Jesus. That friend that loves you despite the amount of your personal crap that they have to wade through in order to get through to you. These women are most certainly my sisters in Christ, and I owe them a debt I cannot ever repay.
And of course, the woman that I love best. Her name is Natalie and she is amazing. She is not only a poet, but also a poem written by God. She is not only amazing, but she constantly amazes me. She has wonderful blonde hair, gorgeous blue eyes and amazing legs. There is to everyone a kind of inner poetry. The soul of a person, where will, intellect and compassion all come together and the goals they have set for their life. I have met the woman that speaks to all of these things inside me, and it is such a tremendous blessing. I love you Nata, you are amazing.
With all this said, with all these things in my heart, can I turn around and then blast a woman for wearing a short skirt or a top that reveals a little too much? Well, no. I said before that what I put before my eyes is MY responsibility. I mean, I would appreciate not having cleavage shoved in my face (I don't need the temptation) but at the end of the day, it is me that has the responsibility of what is in my mind.
God made women because He saw that man was not meant to be alone. If God has gone to such trouble and length to give into our lives such a personal blessing, then it deserves reverence and thanksgiving.

I think that with all the negative crap out there, something good and positive and true needed to be said. So I said it.

I have said this before and will say it again...I love the way you write.
Easy to read but never dumbed down. You write with dignity and humour and honesty and conviction and personal responsibility and intelligence and clarity....and poetry.
"...a poem written by God..."
Ahh Nata, JZ...lang may your lum reek!!
That's one of the few Scot sayings I know! It literally means "may you always be prosperous enough to have fuel"...I hope the sentiment is understood here.
Your Mum won't think of herself as amazing (she is) she'd probably say she did what every mother should do...raise their children to respect humanity.
Not only are you blessed to have the women you have in your life...they're blessed to have you.
Thank you. This point was beautifully presented.

great to see you on this part of my Orble related existence and great to know you like what you read.
I think that poetry is important. It forces a man to think and to love. Without that you may as well stop processing oxygen.
I think that amazing is found in the ordinary obligations of the greatest things.
I know this needed to be said. Do I think that women should conduct themselves responsibly? Yes.
Do I think that it applies double to men? No. I think it applies triple to men, mainly because I am one.
Thanks for your comment Dusk. Natalie says thank you as well.

Natalie is lucky to have someone who appreciates her as much as you do!
thanks for coming on by. Your comment has given me something to think about, something worth posting about..............

Flashes of memories
I think as a woman it is always good to hear a man talk well of his mother - not enough do it and they should be the most important people in our lives, even if we don`t always see eye to eye!
Poetry is always a great way to express ourselves - you don`t have the luxury of long lines of text to explain your thoughts so you have to becareful with the words you choose.
AFter all the hype about this woman vs. man thing as a woman I do think that a lot of us have lost the ability to respect ourselves. I see how some girls behave and dress and the reasons for them doing so and I have to wonder where it all went so wrong that they now behave like this. There is nothing worse than seeing a beautiful person hardly dressed staggering down the road and then they open their mouths and the filth that comes out... I am sure there are a lot of men who would blush sometimes!
Hopefully the world will start to become a little more balanced again and we can all just learn to be ourselves without worrying so much about "THE OTHERS"

personally, I don't believe in a battle of the sexes. Or if there is one, that it will be never be truly won as their is far too much fraternising with the enemy.
I also think that which is said well is said succinctly and poetry gives a great opportunity for that. It forces heart, mind and soul to work together and that is rarely a bad thing.
I think that all women are beautiful. But not all are attractive.
